Are Snickers vegan? Unlike my answer on Are Snickers Gluten-free? – this is an easy one. But a sad one.
They are not in any way vegan. They are full of non-vegan ingredients.
No matter what variety you buy, the base is still the same and contains the following. I’ve bolded the non-vegan ingredients.
- Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate, Skim Milk, Lactose, Milkfat, Soy Lecithin, Artificial Flavor)
- Peanuts
- Corn Syrup
- Sugar
- Milkfat
- Skim Milk
- Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil
- Lactose
- Salt
- Egg Whites
- Artificial Flavor
I normally write that the information in my post is valid at the time of writing and only for the US. But I’m quite confident that Mars isn’t producing a vegan-version of these very, very un-vegan bars in other countries.
It’d be awesome if the Mars company would come up with a vegan variety, but until then, you’ll have to make your own. I don’t currently have a recipe, but I’m working on one and will share it here once it’s ready!
Are Snickers vegetarian?
Yes, they are! They fit the lacto-ovo vegetarian diet.
