Are olives vegan? They are! The only issue could be stuffed olives.
If you buy stuffed olives, then check the label carefully. Those often contain anchovies, which are fish and not vegan.
But they could contain any number of other non-vegan ingredients.
If you’re talking about plain jarred olives, you should be fine as there aren’t any non-vegan ingredients used in those.
Certified vegan olives brands
But for peace of mind, here are some certified vegan brands. What does that mean?
There are different certification programs. If a product has a certified vegan seal on it, it generally means that: the product contains no animal ingredients, doesn’t use any animal ingredients during manufacturing (such as bone char in the case of some sugar, or fish bladder in the case of some wines), and animals weren’t tested on.
These brands are all certified to be vegan!
