I just didn’t feel like writing out a recipe today so I thought I’d do something different. This is my favorite present to give because who doesn’t love cookie dough? And, I’m just guessing here, but people already have tons of cookies and don’t need any more to add to their collection. This solves that problem! After Christmas, when all their premade cookies are gone and they’re busy and have no time to make cookies… there’s cookie dough! 2am and have hot cookie cravings? This will take care of that!
I’ve also found that this is great for new mothers. Again, I’m just guessing here, but I don’t think that they really have time to whip up some cookies when the mood strikes them. This will make them happy. Guaranteed.
You don’t even need to freeze the dough before you put the balls on the plastic wrapped, wrapping paper wrapped piece of cardboard. Include the directions on a card and place this over the plastic wrapped cookies or attach the card to the package. Be sure to include how long it can keep in the fridge before going in to the freezer.
Is this self explanatory? Let me know if something is unclear and I’ll explain it… with words!
These cookie recipes will all work well for this:

Bestest Awesomest gif EVER!
You are just too cute, Erin. :D
Hehe. Thank you, Sonia! :D
I love this! The idea, the pictures.. OK, I love the gif most of all – so cute! :D
Thanks! I'm happy you liked the gif. I was a bit nervous about my crazy faces. ;)
Awesome idea! Now I need to find someone to send this idea to, so they can send me cookie dough. Although, without an oven ready cookie are even better. Though I love eating cookie dough!
Haha. Well maybe you can do this in the future when you don't have to send cookie dough through the mail and have an oven. :)
Adorable and clever packaging. Love!
Thanks! :)
I have heard of this before but never tried it. Time to go for it. It's a wonderful idea! The gif made my day :-D
Aww, you all are so nice. :D And yes, you should totally try it!
That gif is hilarious. :-D Very smart idea! I think premade cookie dough is a brilliant idea, as it homemade premix hot cocoa or brownie mix. It is so personal yet allows the recipient to feel like they contributed too. Very nice.
Premixed brownie mix?! There'a a recipe for that?! Oh wow. I need something like that, although I suppose it's not that hard to just use your favorite recipe and tell them to add the butter and eggs. Thanks for the idea! :) And thanks for the nice comment too!
You are just too cute in that moving photo! And thanks for the tips – I definitely need them this time of year!
Thank you! :) And hope the tips help!
oh my gosh that is the most adorable…and easy wrapping idea – LOVE IT..and the action picture of you is super cute…made me smile and I don't even "know" you :-) SO FUN!
Thank you. :) I'm so happy people like it. I was a little hesitant! And happy you like the wrapping idea, too. :D
Oh my goodness! So cute! Your smile is adorable!
Aww, thanks. :)
This post just made my day. The little gif at the end really made me smile :)
And you just made my day! I wanted to throw the computer at the wall yesterday when I was making the gif. I'm happy you all liked it. :)
This is brilliant! I thought the dry homemade cookie mixes in jars were cool gifts, but this tops those! It eliminates to many steps for the recipient and still looks like a beautiful gift. :) Love it!
Thanks! It is much easier for the recipient and I think pretty unique. I doubt people receive much cookie dough. :)
This is great, present from me to ME! :-)
Haha. Just don't go to the trouble of wrapping it up. :)
Yes indeed. A very awesome idea for new moms. Or rather, expectant ones who crave cookies but are too lazy to do anything about it!
Oh, sorry! Forgot about the expectant ones. And the non-new moms too. So, basically, all moms and moms-to-be. And let's throw in working women with no kids. So these are perfect for all women! :D
Love your packaging idea here! Such a great idea!
Thanks! :)
What a great idea! Totally perfect for new moms. Even better then the gifts in a jar! I'm going to do this for my neighbours for Christmas and make up jars of hot chocolate mix for them. Now to think of what cookie dough to use, any suggestions from your recipes?
Oh, thanks for mentioning that! I'll add links to all my Christmas cookies in a few minutes. I hope your neighbors will enjoy the dough! :) Thanks again.
Thanks for the links! I'm definitely making your soft and chewy ginger cookies. Love crystallized ginger!
Those are a favorite of mine! I love them so much I make them throughout the year. :)
Such a perfect idea and they look so pretty. I love the little animated gif too – so fun!
Yay! So happy you liked the gif. Thanks. :)
What a fun gift idea :D
Thanks! :)
Love this post :)Great gift idea and what darling wrapping :)
Thanks! Sad thing is that I didn't even have anyone to give it to. It's now sitting in the freezer. :)
You nailed that one. New mother approved!!! They look great Erin! Now, if only it was easier to ship over the pond. ;-)
Oh, and I love the gif too! Made me smile. :D Can it be June yet?
Hehe. Yay! I can't tell you how long that gif took. So happy someone liked it! :D And yes… June! Can't come soon enough!
